Egypt Tourist Visa
Most travelers visiting Egypt need a tourist visa. Depending on your nationality, you can obtain it via an online e-Visa, Visa on Arrival (VoA), or through an Egyptian embassy/consulate.
1. General Entry Requirements
Passport Validity: Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.
Blank Pages: Minimum of 1 blank page for the entry stamp or visa sticker.
Supporting Documents: Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation) and flight itinerary may be requested by immigration.
2. Standard Visa Options
Official e-Visa: Single Entry - US$25, Multiple Entry - US$60
Apply online via 'visa2egypt.gov' at least 7 days before departure.
Visa on Arrival (VoA) : Single Entry - US$ 30
Purchase a sticker at the bank counters in the arrival hall before reaching passport control. Pay in crisp USD cash (preferred) or card where available.
Embassy Visa : Required for nationalities not eligible for e-via/VoA. Fees varies by location, apply at your nearest Egyptian Embassy or Consulate.
Note: Both single-entry options grant up to a 30-day stay.
3. Special Exemption: South Sinai Resorts
If you fly directly into Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, or Taba and plan to stay only in the South Sinai region for 15 days or less, you can receive a free Sinai Entry Permit stamp on arrival.
Important: If you plan to travel outside South Sinai (e.g., visit Cairo, Luxor, or the Pyramids), you must buy the standard tourist visa ($30 USD).
