Turkey Tourist Visa
Requirements for a Turkish tourist visa depend on your citizenship.
1. Visa-Exempt Countries
Citizens of around 90 countries and territories can enter Turkey for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Exempt Nationalities Include: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union / Schengen member states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and many others.
2. Electronic Visa (e-Visa)
If your nationality is not exempt from a visa, you may be eligible to apply for an online e-Visa prior to travel.
Official Application Portal: Always use the official Turkish Government site: evisa.gov.tr (Avoid third-party agency sites charging marked-up service fees).
Validity & Duration: Typically allows a stay of up to 30 or 90 days within a 180-day window (single or multiple entries, depending on nationality).
Conditional e-Visa: Citizens of certain nations (e.g., India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines) can obtain a Turkish e-Visa if they hold a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the US, the UK, or Ireland.
3. Sticker Visa (Consulate Application)
If you are neither visa-exempt nor eligible for an e-Visa, you must apply in person for a traditional Sticker Visa at a Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence before traveling.
General Passport & Entry Requirements
Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 60 days beyond your intended stay (typically 6 months validity from entry is recommended).
Proof of Onward Travel & Funds: Border officials may ask for proof of a return/onward flight, hotel reservations, and sufficient financial means for your stay.
