Ukraine Tourist Visa

Ukraine grants foreign citizens entry under three main categories: Visa-Free access, Electronic Visa (e-Visa), and Traditional Diplomatic Visas.

Important Advisory: Active martial law is in effect across Ukraine. Western governments currently advise against all non-essential travel to Ukraine due to security risks.

Visa Categories by Country

1. Visa-Free Entry (Up to 90 Days)

Citizens of around 70–80 countries can enter Ukraine without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

• Eligible Regions/Countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union (all member states), Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Georgia, Israel, Turkey, UAE, and several Latin American nations (e.g., Brazil, Argentina).

2. Electronic Visa (e-Visa)

Foreigners holding passports from 45 specified countries can apply for a single or double-entry tourist e-Visa entirely online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (mfa.gov.ua).

• Eligible Countries: India, China, South Africa, Mexico, Indonesia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ecuador, Peru, among others.

• Validity: Up to 30 days.

• Processing: 1 to 3 business days online.

3. Standard Diplomatic Visa (Consular V-01)

Citizens of countries not included in the visa-free or e-Visa lists must apply for a standard Type C (short-term/tourist) visa in person at a Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate prior to travel.

• Eligible Countries: Most African nations, South Asian countries (e.g., Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan), and various Middle Eastern countries.

• Requirements: Travel insurance, proof of funds, hotel reservation/tourist voucher, and an invitation or official itinerary.

Standard Entry Requirements for All Visitors

Regardless of visa status, all foreign travelers entering Ukraine must present the following at border control:

• Valid Passport: Must be valid at the time of entry and exit.

• Health/Travel Insurance: Must cover medical expenses and war risk damages within Ukraine.

• Proof of Sufficient Funds: Cash, bank statements, or active credit card statement verifying financial self-sufficiency for the stay.

• Return Ticket / Onward Travel Proof.
